Carseats and Strollers Galore
The hubby and I went carseat and stroller shopping this past weekend. We visited Babies R Us and Lullaby Lane http://www.lullabylane.com/Catalog/Default.aspx Sooo many choices that it was a bit overwhelming. I, of couse, did a little bit of research before I went out there but still had alot of questions. It was also really good to test the strollers out…see how easy they fold up, how heavy/big they are to place in the trunk, patterns, etc. I had to explain to the hubby the difference between infant carseats and convertible carseats and what travel systems are. So I must admit that when we were listening in on a demonstration on how the Bugaboo stollers worked we were very tempted…hahaha…espcially Mike since he just always wants to get our baby girl the best of everything. The sales guy was saying how it is like the Mercedes/BMW of strollers (he also mentioned that Maclaren strollers were good for when they are older and BOB strollers are the best joggers) and when I tested it it felt so smooth! But of course, let’s be real here….it’s not in our budget ($500-$1000). Images below just for fun…
- Bugaboo Bee
- Bugaboo Frog
- Bugaboo Cameleon
We also really liked the Quinny strollers…These are a little bit more affordable ($200-$700 depending on what you get with it).

Hi mama! I vote for your last suggestion…just do the snap & go w/ infant seat for now! We now own 4 strollers (peg perego w/ infant seat, double maclaren, chico umbrella, and Bob jogger)…and only use the Bob nowadays…and that’s when we can get Kyra in a stroller!! By the time your little girl is out of the infant seat (at least 9 mos. to a year), there will be newer stroller models out and by then you probably wouldn’t have used the big one you bought! If you do get a big one now, I highly recommend the Bob, even if you don’t plan to jog w/ it! Very easy to move around (w/ one hand!) and they also have an infant seat adaptor if you use it that early on. We sometimes even let Kaleb sit on the end, so it’s kind of like having a double stroller in a single model. Anyways..I vote to save the money now and just wait for the big one.
Isn’t it so much fun shopping/registering?!

Thanks for your thoughts on this Kris! I think I will do the snap & go for now…. And YES, I really enjoy shopping/registering for baby. I was telling Mike how in some ways its like planning for a wedding EXCEPT a baby doesn’t last one day…hahaha!
